Rather than dropping this into Release Notes, a new section you should all see on The Ditch, I'm going to drop this here since there are a bunch updates in addition to the new releases dropping.
We’re excited to announce the release of Firmware 1.9.13 and Mobile App 8.4.0, a major step forward in enhancing the stability, accuracy, and repeatability of elevation data in the Delta ecosystem. These updates bring fundamental improvements across the board, addressing long-standing challenges and laying the groundwork for even more refinements to come.
Firmware 1.9.13 - Major Sensor and Data Enhancements
Synchronized Raw Sensor Sampling – Overhauled the raw sensor sampling from the pressure sensor array to align data collection and intervals, significantly reducing long-term elevation drift.
New Machine Learning Layer for Sensor Fusion – Implemented a powerful ML-driven approach to better fuse pressure sensor array data, addressing momentary periodic elevation drift.
Reduced BLE Transmission Lag – Improved Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) transmission efficiency between the weather anchor and the primary device, further enhancing elevation stability.
Improved High-Frequency Pressure Filtering – Introduced better noise filtering to handle high-velocity, short-duration wind gusts more effectively.
Brand-New Calibration Process – Completely reworked calibration to improve accuracy over large measurement distances.
Mobile App 8.4.0 - Major UX & Calibration Upgrades
New Calibration Workflow – Matches the new firmware calibration process to provide better accuracy across distances.
Delta Control Panel Overhaul – Moved Delta management functions from the "I" menu on the Home Screen to a dedicated Delta Control Panel.
Elevation Rounding Fix – Resolved a minor rounding issue that impacted accuracy.
Custom Elevation Display Options – Users can now switch between decimal feet, feet & inches, and inches by pressing and holding on the elevation reading in the project telemetry page.
Beta Hub Changes
We are officially retiring the beta channel and TestFlight group as we currently know it. All existing users will be moved over to the production firmware and app channel. If you've downloaded the TestFlight pre-production version of the mobile app, please visit the App Store to re-download the production version of the app.
New Beta Experience Coming Soon! Once we finish transitioning away from the old beta approach, we will introduce an in-app beta toggle. By enabling beta mode in the app, users can unlock emerging features and move their Deltas onto the beta firmware track. Disabling beta mode will revert the app and firmware to production—no separate TestFlight installs, no extra downloads, just a simple toggle in the App Store version of the app.
Changes on The Ditch
New Pages in the Community Hub
With the legacy beta path being retired, some elements of the Beta Hub are now moving into the Community Hub, making them accessible to all members:The Idea Pit: Submit your ideas, vote on others already submitted, and track updates on your favorite feature requests as we tackle them. Everyone can submit feature requests and ideas for future development.
The Issue Pit: Bug reporting and tracking are now available to all members. You can report issues, follow their progress, and see what’s being addressed in real-time.
Release Notes: This section, where we announce all mobile app and firmware updates, is fully accessible, giving everyone insight into the latest changes, improvements, and fixes.
This Update is a Huge Step Forward, But Not the Finish Line
While this release significantly improves the stability and accuracy of elevation data, it’s not a silver bullet. We’re still actively working on wind mitigation, and those updates will come in future releases. That’s where your feedback is crucial! We’d love to hear how your Delta performs in different conditions—let us know what you're seeing in the app.
What’s Next?
We’re already hard at work on the next set of improvements:
Orientation Sensor Overhaul – Enhancing motion and angle detection.
Wind Mitigation via Advanced Sensor Fusion – Further improvements to counteract wind effects.
Onboarding Workflow – A smoother, more intuitive setup for new users.
Project System Updates – Expanding project telemetry types and refining the overall project experience.
